Lost Voicemails: Volume I, Mason’s Dream

She thought we were watching something very different…

Due to the abridged timeline between engagement and marriage, Sarah did not have a bachelorette party. This really cramped my life long dream of spending the night in jail with my best friend from some intoxicated girl shenanigans, but I guess it’s for the better.

However, it was a destination wedding and so Wave, Kristen, Nani, Sarah, and I did get to have some girl time, just much more tame. One of the things we had talked about was watching Mamma Mia the night before she got married. It was a special movie between her, Nani, and I: our group chat name has been the Dynamos since junior year when our love of Abba solidified our friendship.

Inspired by a fling in Paris, Nani presented this idea for a voiceover voice memo of Mason talking about Sarah. After the brainstorming of two professional specialist expert wizards in the video-making industry, we created this Volume of Lost Voicemails from Mason to Sarah, but we would make her think she was just watching the Mamma Mia movie, until it switched over seamlessly.

Mason sent a few pretend voicemails, talking to Sarah, and Nani clipped them together (it made me too squirmy to listen to him be sappy). Voicemails were a big part of their long distance dating relationship so I knew the added esoteric layer would be meaningful to them.

Illegal, but for a good cause…

After a few well-placed clips and the audio overlayed, we had a sentimental masterpiece. When we sat down to watch on the eve of March 22, 2025, Nani and I maniacally rubbed our hands.

Sarah actually started groaning when she saw this envelope and the spotty movie intro because she thought I had pirated the movie. (She’s not wrong, I had to pull the introduction from Youtube.) But then Mason started talking and I teared up, watching her slowly catch up to what was going on.

    My favorite part…

I love how he closes out and the clips played here that I filmed over the course of them dating. I got to witness these moments of exciting love between them and I hold those authentic captures very close to my heart.

Look how excited she is! You can’t fabricate it baby.

  • Fresh Off the Market! A theme grown with love…

Fresh Off the Market! A theme grown with love…

Themes for engagement parties are totally trending right now. A theme I have seen ideas for but has not been executed (well) is “Fresh off the Market”.

And if there are two things I know how to do it’s, 1) throw a damn good party and 2) find love in a farmer’s market.

I don’t know why I “wasted” this theme on Sarah Sprout, because as one of my friends pointed out, me and my future husband ACTUALLY met at a Farmers Market but I guess it is just upping the ante for what theme she will come up for my engagement rager.

Anyhow, I wouldn’t have done anything different because she absolutely LOVED it and it was perfect and adorable and so fun and everyone got to dress up so cute!!

Thanks to my prep work and the “dirt” cheap decorations, you too can properly execute this budget-friendly, memorable, and rustically elegant celebration for yourself or a loved one. I have created a full, ready to use package including sign templates, a list of decorations and budget, guest gifts, and a checklist where all you have to do is check the box!

I have perfected the recipe for this experience and done the heavy lifting so you can focus on what truly matters: creating an authentic, engaging event and content that reflects your unique voice and experience. Imagine having the time and energy to actually enjoy the experiences you are sharing! Sav Seed is your secret ingredient.

    • Celebratory Champagne Bar: A good story never started with water! Some cocktail and mocktail creations that are easy to make, will be in budget, and fun for everyone!

    • Bible Verses: As this couple works toward a Godly marriage, I showed my support thought this personal touch. Some verses about marriage were picked out and placed around the party.

    • Dress Code: Colorful, floral, spring! Outfit ideas galore!

    • Made with Love Party Favors: Who doesn’t love a little take-home keepsake that will ACTUALLY get used? The little jam jars are the perfect size for a personal breakfast serving of toast or yogurt or just raw if you are a crazy mama jamma (me). If they are not available at your local grocery store, these mini Bonne Maman jars can be bought in bulk online. A family favorite is the raspberry preserve so I got extra from World Market. There were a few different tags on each of them made of brown paper. I give you templates to print for yourself with the option to customize.

You can have access to this treasure trove of replicable, customizable ideas and templates for the perfect event. The versatility of this theme; it doesn’t stop at engagement party. It can be a bridal shower, a reception, a baby on the way (“A Little Sprout on the Way!”, “Growing our Family”, “Ready to Pick; Our little bud!” I can keep going… )

I provide the blueprint and all the tools you will need. It is ready to print and set up or you can personalize it with your own unique style. Ditch creative block; my ideas are springboards for your unique needs.

Here is the run down of the day’s events…

He proposed at the Dry Lake Beds, photos from their engagement here. We had crafted a plan to get her out there on the dirt bike and hide in helmets, goggles, and masks in the razor until we saw him pull over. He stopped because he “had something in his boot” (genius on-the-spot thinking). That’s when he pulled out a mini bible and the ring, and we sped up behind her to get footage of the special moment.

I was shaking so bad I could hardly keep steady but I will die for the shot so I bucked up, gave myself a sharp slap, and captured these perfect moments. Photozbysav, Book today.

We cracked some champagne and celebrated for a moment. But unbeknownst to Sarah, all her friends, family, and future family were waiting back at the house to celebrate with her too. We made up a lie and left early, pedal down to beat them back.

I downloaded the best of the photos on the bumpy, wind harassed ride back and sent them over for them to play as a slideshow on the big TV screen at their house. (This was in between the razor whiplash and mouthfuls of dirt and bugs… Hold your photographers accountable people, it’s not that hard to send some sneak peeks).

When she walked through the door, she was immersed in the Farmers Market experience I had set up: flowers everywhere, a variety of fruit and veggies, bright outfits, giant and colorful signs proclaiming why were all there – to PARTY with the newly engaged couple!!

The rest of the day was spent toasting, socializing, looking at the popped-the-question pics, munching on brunch, making personal bouquets from the bloom bar, and celebrating!

And of course, when you get engaged, a wedding is to follow. They decided this wedding would take place the month after this, so as her designated wedding planner/maid of honor/videographer/photographer/best friend, I am on crunch time. More on this to come…
